The Corvin Castle is yet another standing statement of the beautiful Romanian history. The castle can be found in Hunedoara and was commissioned by John Hunyadi (Huniade, in Romanian).
The stone towers and extra fortifications can be explained by its strategical and defensive purpose. The Gothic establishment is thought to be Dracula’s castle by many tourists. This is an understandable mistake, but the real Dracula’s castle is Bran, situated up north.
The price for visiting the Castle varies between 5 and 30 lei (1 euro – 6 euros).
There is no point in spoiling the experience with extra details regarding the towers and impressive chambers, but it is definitely a place suited for families with children, history-lovers and pretty much everybody else.
A trip to the Corvin Castle can be easily linked to one to the Deva fortress, the impressive Turda Saltworks and even Sibiu, a historic city of German origins.
